What is Paint Your Own Pottery?
A Paint Your Own Pottery studio (also called a contemporary ceramics studio) offers an enjoyable and relaxing way to spend some time on your own, with your children, or in a group.
Painting pottery is ideal for birthday parties, art sessions with your children, girls nights out, special occasion gifts, or creating keepsakes (i.e. personalized plates to commemorate a wedding, christening, communion, etc).
No Experience Required! People of all ages can enjoy pottery painting. Pieces come in a range of styles and sizes to suit all ages and interests. The novice painter can get help from our friendly staff who are happy to explain the process and choices and show you around our ‘creative corner’.
How Long Does It Take?
Anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on the piece you select, the level of detail you choose to add, and the speed at which you wish to paint. If you run out of time you can take your partially painted piece home and bring it back to finish on another day.
Finished pieces are usually ready for pickup in 4 to 6 days.
How Does It Work?
Choose your piece from a selection of bisque items (pottery in a range of shapes that has been fired once to a solid, white, and slightly porous finish). Then pay for your item, choose your paint colours, visit the creative corner for ideas, stencils, and other help, or just start painting.
All prices include paint, all creative tools, unlimited studio time, glazing and firing.
Once you have finished painting, leave your piece with us - we will glaze it and fire it to make it both permanent and food-safe.
